Campfires, campfires, and wood stove fires are prohibited in the High Uintas Wilderness within a quarter-mile of certain lakes and reservoirs on the Roosevelt-Duchesne, Evanston, Mt. View, and Heber-Kamas Ranger Districts. This restriction is in effect from May 5, 2026, through May 5, 2031. Exemptions apply to persons with a Forest Service permit specifically exempting them from this order, and to federal, state, or local officers or members of organized rescue or firefighting resources performing official duties.
